Why use Privacy PDF Combiner?

Managing PDF documents should be easy, but above all, secure. Our tool is built with your privacy in focus. Because we use modern web technology, all merging of your PDF files happens locally on your own computer or mobile device.

100% Privacy – Your data never leaves your screen

Unlike many other online services, your files are never uploaded to any cloud service or server. You don't risk sensitive documents falling into the wrong hands, and we don't save any information about your files. Simply 100% "Privacy by Design".

Lightning fast and free

Without the need to upload large and heavy files to a server, combining your documents happens in an instant. You can use the tool as many times as you want, completely free of charge.

How does our Privacy-First PDF merging work?

To understand why this tool is completely secure, it helps to understand how the technology behind it is built. Traditional online tools work by you uploading your documents over the internet to a company's server. There, their computers work with the files, and then you download the finished result. This means that your files – which may contain non-disclosure agreements, payslips, invoices, or other sensitive information – make a stopover at a third party. Regardless of what they promise in their terms of use, it poses a security risk.

Our service turns that whole concept around. We have moved all the heavy lifting to your own browser. Here's how it works step by step:

  1. No transfer over the internet: When you select your files, they are only loaded into the local working memory (RAM) on your own computer or phone. The files are never sent away.
  2. Local processing: We use an advanced, secure JavaScript library that instructs your device to parse the PDF documents. The code takes apart the original files, copies each page, and attaches them to a new, empty PDF document directly in your device's memory.
  3. Direct saving: When the merging is complete, your browser generates a temporary download link (a so-called "Blob URL"). When you press save, the merged file is simply moved from the device's working memory to your own hard drive.

Try turning on airplane mode!

The best proof that our tool is "Privacy by Design" is that you can test it offline. Load this webpage, then turn off your internet connection (or turn on airplane mode on your mobile), and try merging a couple of PDF files. You will see that it works exactly as well anyway! The tool simply needs no contact with the outside world to perform its magic.
